Data Deletion Request

If you have interacted with Pricey via our website or WhatsApp bot, you may request the deletion of any personal data we hold about you at any time.
What data we may hold
- Your WhatsApp phone number (if you set a price alert via WhatsApp)
- Your email address (if you set an email price alert)
- Active price alert records linked to your phone number or email
- Search query logs (retained for max 90 days, then auto-deleted)
How to request deletion
Option 1 — WhatsApp (instant)
Send a WhatsApp message to Pricey with the text:
DELETE MY DATAYour number and all associated alerts will be deleted within 24 hours.
Option 2 — Email request
Send an email to privacy@pricey.co.za with the subject Data Deletion Request and include:
- Your phone number and/or email address used with Pricey
- A brief description of what you'd like deleted
We will confirm deletion within 7 business days.
What happens when we delete your data
- All price alerts linked to your phone number or email are permanently removed
- Your phone number and email are deleted from our database
- Any WhatsApp session history we hold is purged
- You will receive a confirmation message once deletion is complete
Note: anonymised, aggregated data (e.g. "sunflower oil was searched 42 times") is not personally identifiable and is retained for product improvement.
This policy is compliant with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa and Meta's platform requirements for WhatsApp Business API integrations.
